The Favourite Hobbies of the Rich and Famous

Even though most of the time we see their faces on huge screens in cinemas, or through our television screen while watching our favorite series, we mustn’t forget that the rich and famous do in fact have lives outside of their acting pursuits and glamorous collaborations. Here we take a look at some of the most fun hobbies of well-known celebrities.

Skydiving

Skydiving is one of the top adrenaline activities out there and if you’ve tried it once or twice before, you may be in good company! Plenty of celebs have jumped from the high skies over the years. For example, Tom Cruise is known on the Hollywood scene for doing his own stunts, many of which include huge leaps from high altitudes. Will Smith is another actor who enjoys tandem jumping. In fact, he loves the heart-pumping activity so much that he convinced his wife, fellow actor Jada Pinkett Smith, to go with him on the adventure for his 50th birthday.

Other members of the celeb skydiving community include F1 racing sports star Lewis Hamilton, country singer Thomas Rhett, and Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark in Game of Thrones. Each of these notable personalities have gone for the big jump and repeated the experience. If you have yet to jump, maybe this will inspire you to go for it the next time you’re feeling adventurous.

Gaming

Gaming is another hobby that many celebrities enjoy. When they aren’t working on memorizing their lines, some major actors like Zac Efron, Mila Kunis and Olivia Munn are likely to be found behind the controller taking down opponents in a heated game of Call of Duty, or attempting to reach the maximum character level in World of Warcraft. Aside from these examples, there are loads more game genres that celebs like to tap into during their free time. George Clooney and Brad Pitt became interested in casino games like Blackjack and Roulette during the 2001 filming of the hit movie Ocean’s 11, which largely took part on the gaming floor in Vegas.

Nowadays, over 20 years later, these games have an increased presence in the virtual world, with a growing number of active players on specialized sites like the Online Casino Betway. In addition to these re-creations of older games, many celebs like Samuel L. Jackson and Travis Scott have been known to play the latest high-energy action titles, such as Grand Theft Auto by Rockstar Games. So, if you like any of these types of games yourself, there’s a high likelihood you’re sharing a hobby with a famous face!

Pottery & Painting

What’s more relaxing than crafting your own ceramic creations? Some celebs seem to think the same, especially superstar Brad Pitt who enjoys spending his free time curled around pottery wheels. Actually, the A-list actor loves the activity so much that he built a pottery room in his LA home so that he can practice the hobby anytime he pleases.

One Indian actress who has worked in B-grade movies, Sana Khan, has also been known to love the arts, practicing painting and pottery when she isn’t behind the camera. Additionally, when she isn’t belting out incredible songs, the artistically inclined musical genius Kavya Ajit is also a talented painter. Other actors who are getting hands-on with clay include James Franco, Johnny Vegas, and Seth Rogan.

Collecting

Believe it or not, celebrities collect all sorts of interesting things. To start, Angelina Jolie is known around Hollywood for her ancient dagger collection which she has been adding to for years. Then there’s Mariah Carey who collects high heeled shoes and owns over 1,000 designer pairs in her giant walk-in closet. Actor Tom Hanks has a great love for antiques and collects typewriters, stating that what he enjoys most about them is the unique sound they make

So, there you have it! Some fascinating undertakings of the rich and famous. While many share the common hobbies like watching TV series, spending time outdoors and globetrotting (actress Deepa Thomas loves traveling and does so frequently), these are a few more interesting activities that you may not have guessed at first.
